Captain Select is a growers' association initiated by Kapiteyn Breeding, a well-known calla breeding operation located in the Province of North Holland. Kapiteyn Breeding introduces licensed cultivars and issues them for production to the members of the growers' association. Agreements about such matters as production plans and promotional activities are made every year. The objective of the partners in this joint venture is to promote the quality and prestige of the product, thus providing growers, export companies and other distributors, forcing operations, and consumers with good products.

Captain Select markets a number of high-potential cultivars under the brand name of Captain's Choice. These are truly exceptional cultivars worthy of being classified as top brands. They have been especially selected for Captain's Choice because they exhibit vigorous growth and produce the most beautiful flowers on the sturdiest stems. Exporters and other distributors, retailers, and consumers can recognise these distinguished products by their labels bearing the Captain's Choice logo.
